School Carnivals – We start hosting local school carnivals in Term 2 and any assistance would be greatly appreciated between 9am and 1pm most carnivals

A big thank you to all that attended the 2026 Howard McGarry Memorial Summer Carnival – The comments from families and athletes that new Howard throughout the day were truly positive.

Our Carnival saw 465 Athletes enter with 451 actually competing on the day, there were 43 Records broken or newly established on the day.

2026 Howard McGarry Memorial summer carnival (updated 3/2/26)

The 2025 Bendigo Bank October Carnival will be held on the 12th October 2025 at Myimbarr Community Park, Wattle Road Flinders NSW 2529, The carnival will start at 9am sharp and will take place in all weather conditions.

Our Carnival will be run under Rules are as per World Athletics, NSW Athletics and the following local Rules

–      Throws/Jump – each athlete will be allowed 3 Throws or Jumps except for the High Jump.

–      In keeping with spirit of the day – NO PROTESTS – will be considered, if you have any questions or concerns please see myself.

–      Placing’s for track events will be determined on times, no finals will be run.

–      Some events and age groups maybe combined if there are insufficient starters, but placing will be awarded to the age group.

–      Events will receive 2 calls, athletes and parents are reminded that Track events take precedence over field events

–      Athletes who have gone up an age group for an event not catered for in their own age group must listen out for the call for that event eg, if you are in the 12’s and entered the High Jump the event on the program will be the 13’s High Jump as there is no High Jump event for the 12’s.

Not sure if Athletics is right for you, then why not trial us on a 2 week basis  – you can register for a trial by filling out our Trialist Form 

Lake Illawarra Athletics Centre is an Active Kids Provider and families are encouraged to use them, make sure you download yours before you begin the registration process.

*Registration fee doesn’t include uniform which is a separate cost, however for any NEW registration will receive a free Singlet or Crop Top.

2024-25 Zone Championships

The 2024-2025 Mid South Coast Zone Championships will be hosted by the St Georges Basin Centre at Sanctuary Point Oval, Larmer Avenue, Sanctuary Point, on the 7th and 8th of December 2024.

REGISTRATIONS FOR THE 2024-25 Season will commence on the 1st August 2024.

Registration for Lake Illawarra Athletics Centre is opened to athletes from 3 years old to 99+.

Registrations are split into the following categories

Athletes born before 2006 will be registered in our Opens or Masters

During the Months of May and August we host a large number of school and district Athletics Carnivals at Myimbarr as well as take our timing gates to various locations for schools and districts to have access to the best technology available.

Congratulations to the following athletes that have qualified through to the 2023 LANSW Hart Sport State Championship.

Our season will finish with our annual Presentation and AGM (Annual General Meeting), to be held on the 6^th May 2023 at the Shellharbour Tenpin Bowl, like last season we are splitting our presentation in two different sections.

Section 1 – 2.00pm-3.30pm – Tiny Tots, Under 6’s, Under 7’s and Under 8’s

Section 2 – 3.30pm  – Under 9’s through to Under 17’s

The format for both presentations will be as follows presentation of age and club championship awards, Major Awards, then each athlete can enjoy a game of Tenpin Bowling to help us celebrate our season.

Following both Presentation and while the 9-17’s are bowling we will be holding our Annual General Meeting where we are seeking new members to join our committee.
